Gas at the BP near my office was $1.99 when I drove past this morning. The same gas station was $3.59 when we got here. And even that was 30 cents cheaper than what we left in Virginia.
Where the Walgreen's is on 49-1/2 and France used to be a Sinclair station (ARCO today, I think). At Christmas time 1966 I bought gas for 13 cents a gallon.
I, too, was super excited to fill up on the low-priced gas. Then, with all of my excitement, I accidentally drove my car into someone else's car. Stupid gas.
New Jersey was the last place I spent under $2 a gallon for gasoline -- in your neck of the woods, in fact, on one of my first Connecticut-to-Virginia commutes in the fall of 2006.
$1.81 last I checked a few days ago. Though the last time oil was selling for these prices, we were well below a dollar. Plus, there are still some stations at like $2.40 - tell me there's not something funny going on there.

You're old.
The worst part of that is, he still has the receipt for the sale. He pay in half pennies.

Petrol dropped under $2 here in Jersey for the first time on Friday. Price dropped twice in a day at one local station.

I fill my hybrid once a month, whether it needs it or not! (Just thought I had to add some stupid comment!)
