The future is now

Robert and Colleen are asleep and Cate's off to work, but I'm still up, obviously, and so is Elizabeth.

Elizabeth has a project due on Wednesday and she's staying up late to work on it tonight. She's using Word on my laptop.

I foresee many more nights like this.

Yikes -- she's been having trouble with Word's way of formatting and calls me over to the machine on occasion. I just found out she hadn't saved yet and she's been working for more than 90 minutes!

I was her age when we got that -- December 1982.

But do you have an 80-column card?

No, but I have Visicalc. We just call it Excel now. :)

Little clay tigers are in the oven. Sorry, not an encoded spy message. Something much more interesting - 4th grade school project. Next up, orange paint.

She stayed up until after 11:00 last night working on it. It was too big to carry on the bus so I drove her in with it today.

Not sure when she's presenting.

We did take photos and will post later.
