Well, we got a great parking spot in Rosslyn and we've eaten dinner so now it is just a matter of waiting the two and a half hours until the fireworks start.
Keeping the kids entertained. Not going to be fun.
We're right in front of the Iwo Jima memorial. Should be a great view.

We've been rained on again and I walked back to the car with the two older ones to get our chairs. Good way to kill a half-hour. One hour to launch.
it's beautiful, clear, dry and 81 in the cities. Maybe next year you guys can get me to do things on the 4th :-)
Well, it didn't rain ON the fireworks themselves ... just all the way up to them. Cate was soaked through -- somehow I stayed warm, if not necessarily dry.
All three kids fell asleep in the car on the way home. And Robert and Colleen fell promptly back asleep in the house. Colleen, shoot, she got wet clothes peeled off her, diaper changed and carried to bed with nary a blink or whimper.
What I love about the D.C. fireworks is ... well, just how many of them there are!
Will include an Elizabeth photo here above.
We had great fireworks at the Saints game last night. We stayed in our seats but others were down on the field. To celebrate the 5th of July I donated a pint of blood this morning. Now get to spend the rest of the day being good to myself. Whatever that means!
You're short a pint of blood, so don't be too good to yourself!
